1984 - Depeche Mode are in Berlin recording "Some Great Reward" at Hansa Tonstudio. Martin and Alan have an argument and Alan has to extend an olive branch in order to get the recording session back on track.

It's 1986 and Depeche Mode are touring for their newly released album, Black Celebration. Alan and Martin have been in a relationship for 3 years; over the course of that time period Alan has watched as Martin's drinking habit has spiralled out of control, at its worst whilst on the road.
