But in return, every year a troll is selected and taken by the gods. The gods can do whatever they want with the chosen one, including turning them into a servant, killing them outright, or even making the troll into a god. This year, Karkat Vantas has been chosen. He hates the gods because two years ago, his best friend was taken and died. Karkat feels depressed, and not even the sprites can help him. So what happens when a certain god decides to take care of Karkat and make him a god? What happens when everything turns upside down?
