Following the events of "World's Apart," Batman holds himself accountable for Superman's current predicament. He is obligated to make things right. With the aid of Martian Manhunter and Wonder Woman, the trio would set out on a quest to heal Superman from his critical condition. It all goes on array, though, resulting in a Superman with no memories and the release of Zod from the Phantom Zone. For situations like these, the trio would need the aid of another (Green Lantern). The unity of these heroes would end up creating the very thing the world needs, protectors. Would they be enough, is the question.

Bruce has been left to look for them alone or so he thought when someone unexpectedly knows more about where to find them then he does. And with the death of Superman, Metropolis is left without a hero.

Title pretty much self-explanatory. A collection of one-shots inspired (read: haunted) by the fascinatingly wicked character of Lex Luthor in Batman vs Superman. Some chapters may contain fluff while others explore the darker side of our most beloved cherry addict. Clark Kent's mission to save the world isn't going as well as he wants, especially since his last run in the red cape ended up with him having to face a powerful tyrannical General from his home planet Krypton and razing half of Metropolis to the grounds in the process. Just when he seem to have the situation under control, everything changes with the mysterious arrival of the famous Dark Knight of Gotham in town. In truth, Clark's problems may have just really begun. A god, an angel, even a menace; those are some of the things Bruce Wayne have heard people call the supposed Man of Steel. Deep down, he knows those words are insufficient in describing the red-caped seemly all-powerful being. Determined to satisfy his curiosity, he travels to Metropolis in order to have a face to face with Superman. What Bruce doesn't know is that more than just fate may be at work.
