Thoughts of a cynical Muslimah is not a story in the sense of the word. It's more like my memoirs. Not all topics will be Islamic, it's basically whatever I think of(lolz). I live in a western country, so I face ALOT of weird things that are totally worth writing about. Updates: Whenever Hope you Enjoy it!

Amira doesn't feel blessed. Dawud doesn't feel blessed. Amira is struggling terribly in school. The endless amounts of pressure from her family and teachers has finally taken its toll on her and she is ready to quit her education. Dawud has a destructive family which little by little is draining the life not only out of him but his little sister Inaya. When she attempts to cut herself, a sinful act, he is unsure of what to do. Both are looking for love, both have faith in Allah. Despite being blessed by many things, neither are able to be fully grateful to their creator. However, there is one crucial problem. Amira is a Bengali and Dawud is Egyptian. When Amira's parents choose culture over religion, it means that marrying Dawud means abandoning them...... A story of many things but mainly love, turmoil and the beautiful religion that is Islam.

"Did I or did I not tell you to be quiet?!" He pulled out his belt from the loops of his trousers. I took a step back, terrified. "I'm going to beat the living day light out of you useless child!" "Dawud you are useless! You are the worst punishment I've ever received! How can you get straight F's on your report card? Do you know how much that tarnishes my image as a mother?" "Don't worry Dawud. We will run away." Dalha whispered as our father's belt landed on us at the same time. "Read my lips!" She slapped my cheek and I held it, my eyes welling up with tears. "You are NOT my child." I burst into tears and was met with yet another slap. "You see? We should've aborted his pregnancy. This child is as useless as useless can be. I'm removing him from school." "Oh, don't cry, Dawud." Ya Sajada consoled me. "You will be fine." "I hate you Dawud! You're a curse to me!" My mother screamed at the top of her lungs.

We continue to follow the life of Jannah, Dawud, their family, and friends. With Jannah starting her third year of university and Dawud starting his fourth, they soon realize that getting married young is as much of a trial as it is a blessing! The two face obstacles involving wealth, patience, school, work and so much more. As everyone continues to lead different and busy lives, the task of finding shelter in one another during times of difficulty seems to get harder. Follow these two through the realities of married life as they strive in hopes of pleasing Allah and making their aspirations come true.
