Dayton knows he's gay all the way, and Hunter knows he's bisexual. Neither man has acted on their sexuality, except for Hunter who gets to date women. But! Or a person you'd do anything for, just to see them smile. You have this underlying hope, that they feel it too." Dayton's words ring in my ears as he rests his head on my shoulder. It's strange that he's so big and bad and intimidating, but he's acting so needy and cuddly right now. He continues on. "That deeper connection you feel with them, more than anyone else. The sense of closeness even though you haven't known them for a long time, that knot in your chest whenever you hug them. You even kinda trust them, you're an open book to them, and not anyone else. Yeah, these are symptoms that you're falling for that person." "Do you feel those syptoms?" I whisper as his breathe fans against my neck. The heat of it making sparks erupt against that space, much like the space where his hand rests so close to mine. Near enough for me to barely move my own, and we would be holding hands. "Every fucking day." Dayton says pressing his lips to the skin where his breathe had once been.

You never know how strong you are until being strong is your only choice. Angie's almost literally been alone her entire life. She's been assaulted by her own brother and her other brother's friends, and has only ever felt the least bit of affection from her second oldest brother. Living in a house with an entire family that hates you isn't exactly a good way to grow up. But when Dayton moves to town, he's determined to show Angie that she's not alone anymore.
