Along the way they discover their strengths and weaknesses, who they truly are in the midst of loss and new found friendship, possibly even love. But the biggest thing of all: Realizing they may not be the only true survivors, and that there may be a cure to this mess. Let’s just hope their entire species isn’t wiped out before they can find it, though.
