Clean mental slate: Hermione has no knowledge of the future but has found ways to live in her high-risk, low-reward environment, managing a covert front for trade and entertainment. Their arrangement raises eyebrows among those perceptive enough to notice, but never quite enough to draw unwanted attention. A dance of convenience or something more? Only the walls of dimly lit meeting places know for certain. The title, synopsis, and cover may or may not change. World-building as I go. Expect canon divergence as this is a same-age AU with differing character personalities. Additionally, the second wizarding war has never happened yet, but tensions are rising as Voldemort starts influencing budding purebloods and recruiting them into his ranks. I intentionally avoided tags and excluded information in the prologue/description that could expose spoilers.
