When Izuku was 7, Inko died due to a villain attack. Underground pro hero Eraserhead was on the scene and saw the little boy curled up in a ball crying. The pro hero brought him to the hospital, and the child protective services determined he had no other family. It was decided that Eraser would take the young boy in and take care of him until they found a permanent home.
