I mean the prologue is the description. Basically a Shudderkin au where the Dead men live in a house together except Larrikin isn't one of them and Skully died in the war. Sexter and Granegan hinted and Hopeskine later developed in the side lines. During the war against Mevolent, Katie North fell in love with a man named Skulduggery Pleasant. But one day, during a mission, Katie was captured and took away from Skulduggery by Mevolent, who experimented on her. Finally, after centuries of being a killing machine, Katie is caught by the Irish Sanctuary where she finds out that Skulduggery pleasant,the man that her boss Serpine hates,is a skeleton detective. Skulduggery realizes that his old lover doesn't remember him or the love they shared, and he feels heartbroken. He lost his lover during the war and then lost his wife and child. He really isn't lucky with love, it seems

With more power than Darquesse herself the last of the ancients is going to destroy all sorcerers, but unfortunately the gang are a man down thanks to the fact that the last of the ancients is mind controlling Skulduggery into being Lord Vile.
