"What about after high school?" I'm afraid it'll bring up a conversation we both don't want to have. What will happen to us? Will we end too? "I like to think of high school as the end sometimes. We can never know what to expect after. We just look forward to graduation for now. You know in the movies after everything is over? Then the music with the credits comes on? And you think wow that was a good movie, and you don't even pay attention to what song is playing. It's silent as far as you can tell. It's a deafening silence without there actually being silence." "How does that relate to high school?" I ask. "At the end we all throw our caps up in the air and cheer. We cheer that we graduated. But no one ever thinks of it as the end. It will be silent, but there will never be any silence." "The deafening silence," I say. "That signals the end," she finishes my thought. "The end of everything we knew," we both go quiet ending the conversation.

The cries were there, once upon a time. Once upon a time they were deafening, the shouts and calls echoing through the narrow alleys and streets. But no man has heard these long lost cries almost a century past. But they are there; they are present, deep within the mind of every man and woman, every child and elder, every cripple and eunuch, the words are there. When they were first said,it was out of defiance. But the call for defiance has left us. Defiance came like a lion, and disappears like a snake's tail. It thundered once, but now it dare not whisper. It dare not stand up. We have slain defiance, with our cowardice. But ours is not a people who will let injustice happen. Ours is a people who will do as the law demands, even if the law demands they geld themselves. Do you hear them? At first they were whispers, between the cowards who walk our land. But I can hear them now, the words as clear as water from the spring above. Listen carefully, and you can hear them shout, calls for restoration and justice. Listen carefully, and you can hear the calls, for revolution. "Inquilab Zindabad!" They scream, they same way our forefathers did once. It sounds good to hear this. Sweet even. It is The melody of the song, the song of change. The last time this song was sung, it was For love, it was for life and most importantly it was for freedom. But that has changed. The song of change too has change, now we call for peace. I can hear their screams louder now, not in my ears but in my heart. They are screams of duty, of courage and of honour. The slumbering men are waking up, to the hate and destruction of the world. But who once slumbered is now awake, and they will do what they can. They will change .

See a different perspective of you, your world, your universe and everything else. Expand your thoughts, dig in deep and no matter how boring life (or rather reading this) would be, don't give up, because along the way, you might find a verse, a quote or a poem that you could relate yourself to. This is the second book of Deafening silence. This is the alternate ending and starts after chapter 20 of the first book.

At first, it was just something like a background noise - a long buzz, or beep. But the strange thing was, it was only in my left ear - the same one that my hand had pressed against when I was holding my head. And then, as if a knife was cutting through my ears, the sound erupted.

It's easier to shut people out. When you let someone in, they end up hurting you. Putting walls up, is a simple solution, cracks filled and invisible to the world. But every once in a while, someone comes along and chips away at the cement that has been used to fill those cracks. Beck isn't about to let some guy come in and knock down her carefully constructed walls, but hiding behind a motorcycle may not be an option for much longer.

"It was too loud for too long, it had become so loud, that even her pages were tired of the noise, but then, all of a sudden...it was silent, and then she realised, she liked the sound of her rapid heartbeat, more than she did the silence. At least the noise meant she was alive, but a silent heart? It meant she was dead." It gets too loud sometimes, the noises, and the voices, but sometimes the sound of my heartbeat, lessons the chaos, and for a second, I get to dwell in a place, where chaos becomes beauty, but sometimes the beauty also becomes the chaos.
