Synopsis
Innocence is a psychological thriller about a single mother trapped in a waking nightmare, forced to confront the possibility that she is losing her mind-when the truth is far darker.
Claire Martin, 32, is raising her eight-year-old son Eli alone after her husband's unsolved murder. Still grieving and juggling night shifts as a nurse, she begins waking up in terrifying situations: behind the wheel of her car miles from home, her hands streaked with mud; in her kitchen beside a bloody knife she doesn't remember holding. Animals turn up dead near their house. A neighborhood child goes missing.
Claire fears she is descending into madness, plagued by blackouts and sleepwalking violence. But her attempts to monitor herself-setting up cameras, keeping journals, refusing to sleep-only deepen the mystery, as evidence vanishes or appears where she never left it. All the while, Eli is there to comfort her, whispering "It's okay, Mommy, you didn't mean to."
