Luckily, The universe is kind enough to give soulmates a red string, one end tied to a person's finger, and the other end tied to their soulmate's finger. Once the Red string first appears, it disappears and reappears at random. It usually appears for the first time when a person is 5-8 years old, and for 8 year old Evan Hansen, today was that day. this is basically just a sincerely three red soulmate AU because I needed it in my life.

So the Connor project happened a year ago. Evan is on speaking terms with Zoe but they are hardly friends. Cynthia and Larry don't want anything to do with Evan, nor do Jared or Alana. Heidi is the only one who still has a good relationship with Evan. They are transpaorted to the Music Box theatre to watch Dear Evan Hansen, the musical about them.
