Dear Santa, For Christmas I would love... a shiny red sled to share with my sisters, wool lined boots to keep out the snow, a spool of gold thread to embroider my dress, a new broom and cake pan for daily housework, a cure for the pain in my sister, Five's, injured arm, a satchel of mustard seed (to keep Frau Perchta from visiting in the dark!), valerian root for the sleep tincture Mother so mercifully provides us children each night, an end to Father's dark days, salvation for those cursed and evil toys, and a beautiful new sister to replace me when I'm gone.
