    Maggie places a small stuffed bear in the coffin and turns to walk away. Then she remembers the note in her hand. She turns around quickly and places the note in the pocket of her father's suit jacket. She pushes the letter deep into the pocket and checks to make sure that no-one can see the private letter that she's written to her father. She leans in to kiss him, tries her hardest not to cry, and quickly walks away before anyone can see the tears streaming down her cheeks. Maggie isn't sure what she feels. She isn't sure what she thinks. All she knows is that her father is gone forever. He won't be there for her birthday or for the father-daughter dance this spring. After the death of her father, Maggie is left to deal with the ups and downs of grief. She has to decide between withdrawing from her friends and family or reaching out to them for help. Her grades have dropped and she's always fighting with her mother. On top of it all, her mother decides to send her to Camp New Beginnings, "a camp for children who have experienced the death of a parent." Maggie wants nothing to do with the camp and she initially refuses to go. She doesn't want to think about her dad and there's no way she's going to a grief camp! After much persuasion, Maggie begrudgingly agrees to go to the grief camp. Little does she know that she will make new friends and begin to open up about her father.
