A POEM - DEATH BED

One shot.

Once a powerful and wealthy businessman, Henry had everything he could ever want. But now, lying on his deathbed, he realized that none of it mattered. The only thing he wanted was to fulfill his last wish. -------- He had a great job, loving family, and good friends, but he never felt truly content. One day, he met a man named Alexander, who would change his life forever. It started out innocently enough; Henry and Alex were coworkers who shared a love for coffee and good conversation. However, as they spent more time together, Henry realized that he was developing romantic feelings for Alexander. At first, he tried to ignore them, thinking it was just a passing crush, but the more he tried to push them away, the stronger they became. As he lay in his bed, Henry knew that his time was running out. He had been diagnosed with terminal cancer, and the doctors had given him just a few weeks to live. But Henry refused to let his illness defeat him. He was determined to make his last wish come true. When Henry finally admitted to himself that he was falling in love with Alex, he was scared. He had never been attracted to another man before, and he didn't know how to handle his newfound feelings. He worried about what his friends and family would think, and he was afraid of being rejected by Alexander. Henry's last wish may seem simple, but it meant everything to him. He had lived a life of luxury and power, but in the end, it was the simple things that mattered most. Henry just wished he can look back on his life and know that falling in love with Alexander was the best thing that ever happened to him; that he had found happiness and contentment in a way he never thought possible. It is a poem with some inspiration from Edgar Allen Poe's The Raven, and I enjoyed writing it.
