A healer is... well. A healer, I guess. They have the main purpose to heal and protect their allies by providing healing and support spells. Sounds easy, right? Left. This story, like one of many stories, has a story line. This adventure of the rising of a small boy starts off in a dungeon. Dungeons are places of trial of strength and will. A place of high risk and high reward. The price of which, is putting your life on the line. One of these people who risk their lives on the line is Yuuto, a young and mysterious healer without origin. Throughout his years as an adventurer, he hasn't really fought because of his class, the weakest offensive wise. The typical "I believe in my friends!" type healer suits this boy. Unfortunately, this world has treated him badly. Abused by his countless parties for being weak and useless despite him being the sole reason why they are still alive. From constant years of repeating the same loop of being picked up by a party, believing something changed and being deceived once again, his patience finally snaps and falls down a different path that was set before him... His beginning may be cruel and tough but with that, he would grow and rise up to be known and respected. The Heavens shall rumble and Hell shall whisper his name. The first of his kind, a honed healer sharpened with power and the gift of healing, an angel of death. //Currently on hold.//

Lumberloft Press is seeking talented, unpublished authors to feature in our upcoming short fiction compilation. Original stories up to 5,000 words in length that have never been published or featured in any physical or digital medium are eligible for submission. Please refer to the official contest rules before submitting your work. The theme for this year's compilation is: DEATH FROM ABOVE. More on this year's prompt: Lately, we at the Lumberloft have become fascinated with the tragic but often heartwarming stories about people (and animals) who have sadly died after an unexpected force has quite literally fallen on them from the air above. The more we started to explore the topic, the more it sunk deep into our guts. These stories are not uncommon, nor are they always explainable. But they're also not always sad. They're often filled with unforgettable details of hope, of the pursuit of a passion, or of the dream of living an admirably quiet and normal life. And as the loved ones of these victims can attest, this could happen to any one of us. We're looking for fiction submissions of all shapes and sizes. From the straight-forward to the abstract, and to those that are only minimally influenced by the prompt. If you read the words DEATH FROM ABOVE and it inspires something in you, we want to read it. Now, you might not be interested in the topic of dying, or of objects that fall from above, or even in reading. But if you are, or even if you're not but you're curious what a bunch of stories about this awful topic might have in common, we hope you'll enjoy what comes from this contest. It's an experiment, and we're happy to be along for the ride. Won't you join us?
