17 year old heavy metal nerd and English whiz Marlene Fjörsberg had never thought that her near future would be much different from the university life that her family had already planned out for her but a poster would very quickly change all of that. A wrinkled, stained poster seeking a rhythm guitarist in a band called Hell's Gate made up of four of the biggest so called Satanists and losers in her school. The band's crushing brand of thrash metal soon becomes the talk of the underground music community but when publicity stunts start going too far and rivalries get out of hand, Marlene begins to question whether this is the life that she really wanted for herself after all....

Verra was one of the thousands of fans who loved Dethklok. When they're having trouble finding inspiration, luck brings them to her. As she grows closer with each member of the band, more than one becomes intrigued by her. She begins to build strong friendships, as well as relationships. Eventually she is caught between what she wants and what the press wants. Nathan, at first cold, discovers that she's different than girls who normally chase after him for exactly that reason. Verra doesn't feel the need to pursue. Toki and Verra quickly hit it off, becoming friends immediately. With his curse of death surrounding him and everyone he loves, will Verra get hurt by him? What exactly will Verra do for Dethklok, or TO them? *This story is not specifically focused on romance, and not every chapter will include it (although it is a big subplot).* Edit to add : Yo. It's 2022 now. I was like fuckin 14 or some shit when I wrote this. I still think it's funny and all, but you can 100% tell it's a 14 year old telling this story. Do with that information what you will.

(Cross-posted on AO3) Retsuko wasn't entirely sure what to make of her relationship with Haida. Fenneko's manic analysis of social media and the phenomenon of thigh pics was something she knew how to handle. Kabae running the entire office rumor mill by herself was something she knew how to handle. Director Ton dumping entire mountains of paperwork on her at the last minute was something she knew how to handle. Going to a karaoke bar with Haida and mutually venting to each other through the power of hard rock because Gori's new app had matched them up was something that Retsuko absolutely did not know how to handle. In retrospect, inviting him to be the new and cameraman and editor on her YouTube channel probably wasn't the best idea.

The ongoing history of Metal. This one is just for fun, and probably only fun for Heavy Metal and Hard Rock geeks like myself... The idea is simple: I wanted to bring together the ESSENTIAL Metal collection. Each short chapter gives information and trivia about a specific subgenre or icon in the world of Heavy Metal and is accompanied by the essential playlist of said subgenre or icon. I don't own any of the songs I list, these lists are pure for my fun and to promote some underground and forgotten artists. I urge people to support the original artists :) I also do not own any graphical art or logo used (although most of the artwork seems to have disappeared).
