In an alternate universe, in a dystopian future, miles away from Panem, 17-year-old Marie Monroe is convinced to volunteer as tribute for the Japanese Hunger Games. *NOTE* This is part of my Death Note x Crossover series since I already have one in store for Death Note x Jujutsu Kaisen, since that theory I made of Sam Seraphim becoming Mahito after his death, but that's for another book.

Mellox Near. It was always Mello's job to 'babysit' Near when the younger boy was ill, which seemed to happen frequently. Mello despised catering to the white-haired boy, spending the day complaining constantly about the task. Mello may soon regret his words. Story is a rewrite from my fanfiction.net story which I recently deleted.

(Some spoilers) This story takes place somewhere in episode 25 titled, "Chinmoku". In my opinion, the series should've ended shortly after L had died. Having his predecessors finally complete the job that L wasn't able to so doesn't sit right with because because I've always seen Death Note as almost having 2 main characters and displaying the story of Light vs L, evil vs good, genius vs genius. I'm not saying the rest of the episodes were bad, I enjoyed the thrill but I just didn't see the point of continuing. I felt that because the series starts with Light and L, its should end that way too. So this story is somewhat based on that, its not the best but it does have meaning and portrays a more meaningful ending. Happy reading!
