Ryuk, God of death, got bored and carelessly dropped his death note into the human world, ending up in a jail cell in California... Beyond Birthday'a cage. Now filled with deep hatred for Ryusaki, Also known as L Lawleit and Naomi Misora, he escaped from jail, holding the death note in his hand, ready to kill by writing names in the notebook to give people heart attacks. Meanwhile, former student Light Yagami and his Girlfriend, Misa Amane, try to find the same book as him, who also stumbled upon it but didnt pick it up from the ground.

In a world where the terrorist group, Kira, has the ability to kill people without being there, it's up to L, the world's greatest detective, and the NPA to get to the bottom of it all. But when Chief Yagami's son, Light, joins the task force it changes everything. Light knows information on Kira that would lead to their downfall but if he tells anyone his sister will be killed. Light must steer the investigation in the right direction without revealing himself and L must piece together the puzzle before it's too late. Eyo it's me, back at it again with the dumb rare-pair fanfic! Ok sorry about the dumb damn Daniel reference, I've been rewatching a lot of SaltyDKDan videos. Anyways this is a fanfic that follows L and Matsuda in an au where Light is taken down before the time-skip, and now the Kira Catching Squad has disbanded, for the most part, as L and Matsuda still work together, doing cases with each other, and living together. This is going to be slightly serious, I'm going to try to make it slightly serious at least, but there will be fluff. Also there will be spoilers for the anime up until the time-skip. Also, also I probably won't mention the Watari orphanage much, since I don't feel like writing those boys, and sorry if there's any inconsistencies with the manga I haven't read it.
