The year is 209 A.B. according to Jordy's mom and dad. His family was an Intact family. The girl he saw jump on roofs with red hair was a Fragment. He wanted to know her. He wanted to be like her. But his parents won't let him. So he has to do one thing. He has to run away. He has to hide. ***WARNING: This book is a fanfiction of 'The Runner' by @so1tgoes. What happens in this book is sparsely compared to what happens in 'The Runner', so stuff that might happen in that book will not happen in this book and stuff that might happen in this book does not happen in the original***

******************** They treat Us like dirt. Not Us, Them, the Others. Turns out after all these years, I'm one of the Bringers. The Light Bringers. Their duty is to protect. Protect what? We don't know. Now they realise I'm one of their powerful leaders. Queen of Aliscah. A capital city. Fuelled by hatred and mistreatment of the past I can't help but want to bring the bringers of our misery to their knees. But as I learned the truth of the past I realise it's a bit more complicated than that. It's always more complicated. ******************** The soldier shoved me to the side. I reached for Den but he was being dragged to the General. What Den had done was wrong, but it was right. He stood up for us. For me. We all would know the price of this. But yet my heart beated wildly in my chest. I stood up, my vision blurring. No... no this can't be happening. I stumble over to them, the soldier who earlier pushed me grabbed a hold of my neck and shoved me to the ground. I couldn't move, the grip was painful. One wrong move and it could kill a weakling like me. An Other, an outsider. A different rank, lower, much lower. My vision blurred again and I searched desperately for Den. He called out my name as I found him. The General unsheathed his sword. I cried out a plea. A line of pleas. Not Den. Not my Den. Too many people of our kind had been killed over minor things. It was unfair, unjust, ruthless and cruel. These people surely did not have a soul. Anger rose in me, filling my body, shaking with rage. And as the blade finished its slice through the neck of my love, I lost control completely. And let the monster inside form. ********************

† † † " Everyone had a box they stayed in. Only stepping out once in a blue moon. Okay, so maybe we weren't that boxed in, but this was the ultimate day of days. Our blue moon was May first. Dare Day. Cue the recreational explosives. On this day, one of us could get a tattoo because we'd always wanted to and our parents wouldn't let us. Or we could ask a cute guy out that we'd been crushing on for months. Better yet, one of us could end up kissing a guy we'd absolutely despised, even though I- one of us... had known the feeling was mutual. Enjoy the last of school, get our diplomas, and have the best summer we could ask for while dreading with excitement, the coming fall and the start of college. But this year was different. All our dares came back snapping at us like piranha. Actions met consequences. Tears were shed-with maybe some blood. And hurt found betrayal. this is a poem dedicated to the stupidity and ignorance of human beings in general. this is also dedicated to the same back stabbers that betrayed me, so here i try to show and express how infuriating human nature is.
