Izuku actually had a quirk but he never used it. Then he got All Might's quirk. One day he was accused of stealing files and got arrested and sent to Tartarus. Most of class 1-a was cruel to him. The only people who stuck with him were Uraraka, Tsysu, Iida, momo, Todoroki, Shinso and the big three. They are the only one who knows his secret. What they don't know is that inko is his aunt. His real mom was furious when she found out.

If you asked Midoriya, it happened in the blink of an eye. If you asked Todoroki, that blink of an eye was a moment that stretched out to encompass years. OR Todoroki sprains his ankle while fighting a villain with Midoriya and it somehow catalyzes the progression of their relationship from friendship to something more.
