Shoto Todoroki had nothing going for him. His dad abuses him and made him quit his only escape: school. As a final goodbye to his crushes, Bakugou and Deku, he confesses his feelings and runs away. This causes Todoroki to lose his ability to show emotions. After three years, he works all day, every day but every time gets fired eventually for his lack of emotions. But ends up getting hired by two people he thought he'd never meet again. Bakugou and Deku worked their hardest to find their Shoto after he confessed his love and then disappeared. Todoroki hadn't known it at the time, but Bakugou and Deku were the leaders of the Yakuza, the Japanese mafia. Finally they had found their Shoto and weren't planning on letting him go anytime soon.

Shouto grew up too fast, thus he's already been put into internships and sent to hero/rescue work alongside Endeavor. He has never been given a voice or a microphone to express any way he actually feels- in fact, if he was being honest, being this 15 year old hero didn't feel right; nor did anything he endured to get that far. But because his dream is to become the greatest hero--he is forced to accept that this /must/ be right. it must be what he's meant to do- all he'll /ever/ be meant to do. It's only when he withstands life threatening injuries + learns his "control" he thought he had was entirely false - where his fighting spirit is broken. (or was it just "sculpted" fighting spirit? he doesn't know.) It's suggested to him that he attends UA as he relearns to regain his fighting strength and stamina. He basically has to relearn how to use his quirk in a sustainable manner, and the fear of being critically injured again terrifies him. Incoming Izuku; who has absolutely no control over OFA, he's heard of Shouto's story. but because of fear, Shouto is incredibly cold to him. Even so much as envying the amateur quirk user because he doesn't walk life in tremendous fear. But since Izuku is just so damn persistent, it doesn't take long until they're on daily greeting status; to "I think you're incredibly resilient, please dont discredit your strength"; to--"call me if you /ever/ need anything." As the year goes on, seeing Izuku push through countless fatalities puts Shouto in a place where he's not only afraid for himself- he's afraid of izuku breaking. He's afraid of the same thing that deeply affected him --happening to the one person he's ever allowed to know him. The /real/ him. Shoto ran away from home when he was 16,just after the U.A sports festival. He couldn't handle the abuse from his father anymore so he went to L.A to move in with his best friend Momo and leave everything behind, start a new life. If only the green haired boy wasn't so eager to find him. OK so i know the AU is kinda weird but just deal with it :') I have been thinking of writing this for ages and i just really wanted to write some DekuTodo because it is severely underrated! >:c In this AU everything is the same except Momo isn't in U.A and she has a different quirk now! :) (I'll explain more when i start writing the other story.
