Clancy was born with the ability to talk to the dead. He was destined to become a bishop and he attended Dema's most elite academy of magic, where Josh was a servant. Clancy has to learn how to manage his powers, make the voices of the ghosts go quiet when they're too much, and fulfil his destiny. Josh just wants to make money to help his sick father. Soon, Clancy falls in love with the pretty red haired servant, but relationships are forbidden for students like him. Especially with a servant. But when has he ever followed the rules? - - - This is a Clancybearer fic but I've put my own twist on it so it's not 100% lore accurate, but I'm really proud of this one and I really hope you guys like it! You move out of state for a fresh start. It seems your next door neighbor, Joshua Dun, has grown very fond of you. But can you go through that kind of pain again?

Clancy is a Scribe within the walled city of Dema, a silent, gray place where everything is performed with efficiency and repetition. While he is proud to represent his district amongst the Scribes and relay the history of Dema for future generations, he begins to feel that there is something missing within the city that can only be found outside the walls. Risking everything to escape the perimeters, Clancy realizes that the ravines of Trench can be a dangerous place, especially with the canyon's labyrinthine pathways and the Bishops at his heels. Lianna Higgins and her odd trio of outcasts have been scouting Trench for the better part of three years, hoping to one day liberate the people of Dema themselves, even if it means risking their lives. When Lianna stumbles upon an escapee from Dema fate brings them and Lianna's crew to the Banditos, who themselves are devoted to usurping the Bishops and bring the walls of the gray city down. Lianna doesn't enjoy the Banditos' company - as a matter of fact, she despises their company - but she doesn't have anywhere else to go and the life of a timid young Scribe now rests like a heavy weight on her shoulders. The trial ahead will be hard and neither Clancy nor Lianna are eager to weigh the odds - but joining the Banditos and severing ties with Dema may be the only way for them to survive. TJ2109 has lived in the walled, remote city of Dema since he was born. Though the city's laws are strict, his relationship with the city's rulers, The Nine Bishops of Bourbaki's City (or The Niners for short), has given him a bit more freedom than your average Dema citizen. Not much, but a bit. But it wasn't enough. Sure, he thought he was happy going through the daily motions in Dema but he'd always had this want to know what lay beyond the city's walls. He was never sure why though... he was happy in Dema. Why would he want to know anything beyond himself, the Bishops and the Demarians? He was happy! At least he wants to be. But a stranger in a laptop is going to show him why he should be thinking about the outside, and why he should consider getting ready to leave the walls.
