Dema/Trench Lore, diving into everyday life in Trench with the Banditos, on their path to free Dema. Lita and the rest of the Banditos are led by the Torchbearer, Josh. Their mission is to liberate Dema from the Bishops, but they first need to figure out how to expand the rebellion within the city. In the meantime, the Banditos task themselves with helping more citizens escape the city and adjust to life in Trench. When mysterious letters are discovered throughout the city, some citizens begin to question their commitment to Vialism, and even the Bishops themselves. Nobody knows who this 'Clancy' person is, but the Torchbearer knows how valuable such an ally could be to their cause, and he's determined to get them on their side. *Authors note* This story follows the canon timeline as closely as I'm able, starting from just before HeavyDirtySoul and ending after the events of Levitate. If all goes well, there will be a sequel that delves into what the Banditos do during the SAI era and beyond. I've based several of my characters on real-life people, as well as borrowed some names. Lita is based on Debby Ryan, and Hadley is based on Jenna Joseph. I changed their names for creative reasons, but I didn't want there to be any confusion about who they are meant to be. "welcome to trench." the leader of the yellow tape covered people said as he walked down the aisle of tents, beautiful yellow flower petals decorating the path as many of the same yellow tape covered people staring at the man who followed him, some nodding, some murmuring, some smiling subtly. tyler didnt feel scared. he didn't feel unsafe or uncomfortable. he knew that dema didnt control him, and that he was about to become a bandito.

Trench was lonely enough by the light of day but now with the sun gone down, Tyler was sure the stars were watching him with sinister intent.

This story is based around the theories of Trench before and after Trench was released, I will try to keep everything consistent, but I may make a few mistakes. On the date of this book's first chapter (10/11/2018), I have only found some official characters in the DEMA universe. Them being Clancy, Nico, and the rest of the Bishops. All of the other characters and roles were made up and are not official to any standards. FOR MATURE AUDIENCES.

Contains A Tad Bit of Violence, And Themes Of Mental Health, Self-Harm, Implications of Death, Death Itself, Suicidal Imagery, And Drag Paths All Over The Gravel Surface. The Book Does NOT Glorify These Themes, And Makes A Serious Attempt To Tackle Them Seriously, And Humanly (Not Humanely, But Humanly In The Realistic Sense) at The Same Time. Prepare For Unhealthy Coping Mechanisms. If These Are Triggering Subjects Regardless, Then This Book May Not Be For Your Benefit. Stay Alive For Me.) (THE ART: Covers (Book cover, part 1-3) are edited together from photos of Twenty One Pilots, and are owned by the band. The illustrations are inspired by their music, and the art of John Rettstat.) This book is a fan work made purely out of love for the source material and consists of three parts and 26 chapters (Not including the epilogue. The reason the book is "ongoing" is because I am in the process of editing the chapters still ;-;) I wrote this book because I really liked the lore and story the band (Twenty One Pilots, duh) wrote, and wanted to write a sort of interpretation of it, a semi-ambiguous conclusion as to what I believe to be head canon (if you have a different head canon, please share it! I love to read other people's variants and interpretations of the story, and it's part of what inspired me and the creative decisions of this fan-fic-book!) The book uses lyrics of songs, though I try to give their placement meaning to enhance the story, and not just feel like a copy-and-paste. This is not meant to be a final definitive canon, and serves as a compilation of events tied together by a story based on dmaorg, the Clancy letters, and who woulda guessed, fanfiction (For those wondering, no, this is not a Joshler story, but I erm... respect those clikkies out there that believe in the hype. No, but seriously, don't believe the hype, there's a whole song about it. It's just a joke. Right?)

"The fear and pain shall not be elements that stop us, but what feeds us to persevere." Clancy is a Scribe within the walled city of Dema, a silent, gray place where everything is performed with efficiency and repetition. While he is proud to represent his district amongst the Scribes and relay the history of Dema for future generations, he begins to feel that there is something missing within the city that can only be found outside the walls. Risking everything to escape the perimeters, Clancy realizes that the ravines of Trench can be a dangerous place, especially with the canyon's labyrinthine pathways and the Bishops at his heels. Lianna Higgins and her odd trio of outcasts have been scouting Trench for the better part of three years, hoping to one day liberate the people of Dema themselves, even if it means risking their lives. When Lianna stumbles upon an escapee from Dema fate brings them and Lianna's crew to the Banditos, who themselves are devoted to usurping the Bishops and bring the walls of the gray city down. Lianna doesn't enjoy the Banditos' company - as a matter of fact, she despises their company - but she doesn't have anywhere else to go and the life of a timid young Scribe now rests like a heavy weight on her shoulders. The trial ahead will be hard and neither Clancy nor Lianna are eager to weigh the odds - but joining the Banditos and severing ties with Dema may be the only way for them to survive. I woke up in the hospital? But why? I thought I was gone. That's when the flash backs hit me. Okay so, this in a little narrative I had to write in class (English) We had to pick a starter and I chose 'Just after he died, he sat up' This just instantly reminded me of the forest fic, so this is very similar (And worse written :)) Josh isn't real..or is he? ^death is different then forest fic If you haven't read the forest fic then there are trigger warnings *suicide* *self harm* *negative thinking* *depression* And yes this fiction is all in one page.

tyler joseph's fears surround him constantly, and he doesn't know how to handle them. things only get worse when his mother dies suddenly and he's forced to deal with his emotions. but he's woken up somewhere different. tyler's in a place where the world's on fire and he doesn't feel so broken. joshua dun can't talk. physically, he can, but his anxiety overwhelms him to the point where it's hard to form a proper sentence. things get progressively worse for him when he comes out as bisexual to his parents, and he winds up unconscious and bruised on the floor of his bedroom. that's when he wakes up in a different world. one where he doesn't have to be so afraid of everybody. both boys know they can't stay awake forever, but maybe they can help each other gather the strength to go back.

I don't post things like this. This story probably won't even really last, but whatever. For those of you who are fans of twenty one pilots', you know that things are going on. Like a lot of things. Having been on hiatus for so long, leaving so many music-hungry people starving, things are happening. And this is about that. Yeah.

To them, she wasn't just another girl; she was their chosen successor, meant to lead Dema with the same iron grip. It was a fate she never wanted or expected. Upon discovering their plans, something within Elli snapped. She refused to be a pawn in their game. Defiance sparked, and she knew she had to take control of her own future. Leaving Dema was unthinkable-no one had ever done it. But a group of rebels, outsiders who had infiltrated the city's heavily guarded walls, offered her a chance. These rebels had seen the world beyond Dema, a world Elli had only imagined. With their help, she escaped, slipping past the Bishops' watchful eyes into the unknown. Yet, Elli's journey was just beginning. Outside the walls, she discovered a world far bigger and more dangerous than she had ever envisioned. This is Elli's story-a tale of rebellion, self-discovery, and the quest for freedom. (Based on the lore around Twenty One Pilots Trench) Sirens. sirens for miles playing their simple one tone. It echoed in their ears, all the noises and it was still eerily quiet, simply too quiet. No one dared speak, other than a simple whisper "come inside" to children by their parents and a whimper back. Dusk was falling and pulling the small village on the edge of the Trench, in the LISTO district. The sirens played back and forth, the sound hovering, as if moving back and forth left to right, up and down. They were everywhere.
