My name is Alex Hazel, as assigned by Keons, the Bishop of my District. Like everyone else, I believed it all: that Vialism was the only truth, and that giving up my life was the greatest honour achievable: "to live fully is to sacrifice all". But since I signed The Pact, the oath to give my life for the honour and glory of Vialism at the next Annual Assemblage, something in me changed... Some unbending desire to know what is outside beyond the Wall grew, and some growing doubt that I could not suppress about Dema and its religion that I was brought up in. And then I stumbled across a mysterious man with a journal, and learned a myth of underground rebels called "The Banditos" were in fact not a myth at all, and everything I thought I knew was completely shattered. The cycle has, once again, repeated itself. Dema is now ruled over by 9 new Bishops, the most powerful of which being Clancy, or as he is now known, Nova. Once a pragmatic escapee, Clancy now carries out the one thing he swore to denounce. Vialism. The Banditos have found themselves right back where they started. Seen as the enemy, they still try every means possible to bring peace and safety to the people of Dema, but their attempts are futile. When all hope seems lost, another escapee is found. People assume that she is just another citizen looking for a brief reprieve from the oppression. But they were wrong. She is the only one who can save Trench from the iron fists of the Bishops. She is The Øne. First story! I hope that little blurb hooks you in :3 I will try and update this as much as possible, but, as most people do, I have quite a busy life. Nevertheless, updates will come periodically, and on a Tuesday (IF I CAN GET THEM OUT ON TIME) If you find any grammar mistakes, and/or any mistakes in the lore (e.g timeline order) then please let me know! I will be adding and changing things, but if there's anything blatantly wrong, call me out on it.

I am a citizen of Dema. I am an escapee. I have failed time and time again. I have never seen the world outside this city, but one day I hope to. One day I will. My friend Clancy is like me. He is a citizen of Dema. He is an escapee. He is an exception. He has seen the world outside these imposing walls. He tells me about these people he's seen. He hasn't been able to speak with them yet, but he gets closer with each escape. I'm going to ask him to take me the next time he goes. I want to see these people for myself. I want to know if we can survive outside of Dema. Because I want to live.

evie (pronounced EH-vie) is apart of the banditos, a clan lead by tyler joseph and josh dun. their arch nemesis, the bishops are always kidnapping tyler and other banditos and taking them back into the city of dema. evie is just in it to be safe from the bishops, but when she gets too involved, things take a turn and evie's life in trench will never be the same. intentional lowercase i do not own the world of trench nor any songs or other things that i reference. credit to twenty-øne piløts.

After months of planning the banditos get the chance to rescue their leader from the arvid powers of Dema. In the midst of preparations one of the members, Josh, thinks back to the first conversation he had had with Tyler.

TJ2109 has lived in the walled, remote city of Dema since he was born. Though the city's laws are strict, his relationship with the city's rulers, The Nine Bishops of Bourbaki's City (or The Niners for short), has given him a bit more freedom than your average Dema citizen. Not much, but a bit. But it wasn't enough. Sure, he thought he was happy going through the daily motions in Dema but he'd always had this want to know what lay beyond the city's walls. He was never sure why though... he was happy in Dema. Why would he want to know anything beyond himself, the Bishops and the Demarians? He was happy! At least he wants to be. But a stranger in a laptop is going to show him why he should be thinking about the outside, and why he should consider getting ready to leave the walls.

Welcome to Trench. In the lowest reaches of a barren world of grey and neon, there is a city called Dema, surrounded by walls and controlled by nine Bishops. There, children and adults of all ages are taught to perform with efficiency and obedience. There is no way out - but why would they want to leave? They have shelter, food, clothes, and most importantly, consistency. Two young men dream of something outside of Dema. They are forced to keep quiet about their dreams and dim the light in their eyes, for if they are caught with thoughts like these, they will surely be published. It would be easier to stay and conform, like everyone else.
