Shane was speechless, and Ilya was unknowingly saying the sweetest things to him without even knowing. Shane's eyes started to water. He loved Ilya so much. He had watched for years as the man he loved slowly disappeared. turning into a shell of the strong, smart, cunning man Shane once knew. "We did a commercial," Ilya said, grabbing Shane's attention. He knew what he was talking about. "You did?" Shane replied to keep him talking. "Yes, it was hockey something, very early, I was very young," Ilya said, waving his hand trying to bring the rest of the story to him. OR Ilya has dementia and tells Shane about a Jane, not knowing that they were the same person thank you to my bsf who came up with the name and reading the uneduted version :P

Luke Beckett knows his job. To sit in the corner of the museum and observe. He may clean his glasses, read a book or advise visitors of the various exhibits. On a day off she'll either have lunch with her oblivious mother or take in the various museums and galleries she loves. Once alone: she paints, eats pot noddles and sleeps. Their repetitive and timetabled existence is so much less than living; it's lonely. After a formal conversation about art, they never expect to meet again, but their shared sense of artistic frustration, familial responsibility and loneliness, pushes them closer together when those around them hopes that it pulls them apart.
