One of the mildly successful but nonetheless disappointing "failed" experiment from whatever their exact goal was. Years later, now as [Lapis] working her current mission at an all-girls boarding school, she was rudely slapped in the face with Operation Strix. Aid Twilight, get close to a Desmond, they said. It'll be easy, they said. Well, they lied. After all, how are you suppose to get closer to someone who has no humanity? How are you suppose to understand them if you don't even understand yourself? How are we suppose to live when all we've known is survival? In the locked drawer of her desk, she places all of the things she keeps dear: A hand carved chess set, the latest edition of a highly proclaimed physics textbook, a little wooden puzzle with salted peanuts inside, a personally embroidered handkerchief, a baked unidentified not-flying object that's just pure carbon at this point, and many more. Memories of a life built off lies. Maybe she'll let herself relish in it for a bit longer. Just... a little longer... WARNINGS: Human experimentation, firearms, profanity, gore, blood, suggestive themes, more to be added probably.

The course of true love never did run smooth. Lysander adores his Hermia, Demetrius doesn't know who he loves, Titania and Oberon can't decide whether they love each other and Theseus is marrying a platonic love. Hippolyta is keeping a shared secret and trying to dismantle the patriarchy, Philostrate is watching it all. And sighing quite a lot.

This was written for one of the prompts for Last Summer Conest Collab over on Wattpad. I'm going to try to write at least one story per prompt before August 15th for the fun of it. This one is written for Urban's prompt and needed to be 1.5-2k. "Every day you walk past a wall that has graffiti of what you are about to do. But today, it says I know what you did last summer. ... This was written for the Froday little special for July 2022 which is Drabble Madness where I'm to write as many 100/200/300 word stories. This is also written for The Chamber with the woman of color I'm featuring being Vivi from My Time At Sandrock because - well, what's not to love. Twelve year old Sophie-Olive Thorpe has had premonitions as long as she can remember. She has kept her gift of clear sight secret from her mother until a vision in which her sister falls ill when a servant carrying scarlet fever is allowed to return to the Thorpe mansion. Her stepfather, suspicious of her powers, forcibly accompanies her on the road to an insane asylum, where he plans to abandon her.
