The area stinks; maggots wriggle around the ground and in the cars left behind. The sky is grey, as smoke and dust make up the mid-afternoon look like evening. Bridges and zip-lines line the rooftops. Ladders lean against every building, some makeshift and others old and long forgotten. The streets are thick with the decaying walkers - those who were once human - and that of forgotten cars - long abandoned after the explosion. As they work to lift the curse, their relationship deepens from reluctant allies to lovers, and Gu-won confronts the emotional pain of losing his powers. Eventually, it's revealed that the curse was placed by someone he once trusted. In the end, with Do-hee's help, the curse is broken, but instead of returning to his demon form, Gu-won chooses to remain human, having found new purpose and love.
