For years, not a single demon had been sighted there, and there were no records of anyone disappearing due to demon activity. The Corps believed the village to be free of demons. Yuki Hayashi is fourteen years old and surviving on her own after a demon killed her entire family with no one but her as the survivor. This incident motivates Yuki to join the Demon Slayer Corps. Along the way she'll meet Tanjiro Kamado and his sister Nezuko, who happens to be a demon, but she doesn't want to eat anyone. Another strange surprise comes when she meets Inosuke Hashibira, a boy a year older than her who survived in the mountains alone. He's very strange, but Yuki grows attached to him.
