Denethor Stories

This is my response to that ever painful scene in the Return of the King between Denethor, the Steward of Gondor, and his youngest son, Faramir. It takes the form of a very angry elf woman named Nienna. (I've taken more inspiration from the cinema version of this scene for dramatic effect)

This is a series of AU vignettes in which each member of the Fellowship hears the call of the Ring -- and answers it. My take on the big What-If. Varying degrees of angst, drama, action, and perhaps a little more angst. This series won First Place in the MEFA Awards quite a few years ago now. This idea brewed in my brain for a long time before I finally got it out of my head and onto 'paper.' It would never have happened without my beta reader, Thundera Tiger, and I can't thank her enough. Without her guidance and encouragement, this story would never have seen the light of day, nor would I have considered posting any of my writing. Period piece/regency era AU. Eowyn, lady of the impoverished and failing Edoras Hall, finds herself facing the prospect of an arranged marriage with the detestable Dr. Wormtongue as he aids her ailing uncle. However, at the ball with her friend Arwen, she encounters a mysterious stranger who might just capture her heart before Wormtongue can steal it away. Eowyn discovers love is not so simple as the first pair of eyes you meet across the room, and that perhaps meddling brothers and friends are not the best matchmakers.

Boromir and Faramir have a little sister. She is their little angel. The whole Minas Tirith adores her. Steward treats her as bad as he treats Faramir. The brothers teach her everything they know behind their fathers back. What will they do when Theoden and Denethor arrange her to be married with the third marshall?

During a family trip in Anórien, the steward's family finds themselves trapped in a deep fog. Once they manage to escape it, they find out that they are not where they are supposed to be. They discover that they are in the fourth age. Besides learning about this age they have to find a way to return to their own time. I do not own the characters from Lord of the Rings. They belong to the Tolkien estate.

After a turbulent relationship between his father and him, Faramir decides to live a new life as Ranger from the North. His new life is good and he finally feels happy again, until a terrible event happens and his world caves in. Time to seek revenge...
