For as long as he can remember, Harry Potter has felt like something in his mind isn't right. Sometimes he wakes up in unfamiliar places, with memories that don't seem his own and a feeling of having been someone else. Other times, he hears voices in his head, as if different versions of himself are trying to take control. But after years of abuse at the Dursleys', he learned that it's best to remain silent.
When he arrives at Hogwarts, the episodes worsen. He loses time, his mood swings for no apparent reason, and acts in ways he doesn't understand. However, with the help of his new friends, Neville, Ron, and Hermione, he begins to put the pieces together and discovers the truth: his mind is not a single entity, but a jigsaw puzzle of fragmented identities, created to endure the pain of his childhood.
As he struggles to understand himself, Harry discovers unexpected allies. Draco Malfoy, his supposed enemy, begins to see him differently, and what begins as a rivalry soon turns into something deeper. And in Potions professor Severus Snape, she finds someone who, despite his harshness, is able to understand her suffering more than she could have ever imagined.
