Derek only started getting the dreams a few years ago, and he knows what it means, his soulmate is younger than him. Laura teases him incessantly about it, but Derek doesn’t pay her any mind. The dreams are fuzzy at best, he only has a fleeting glimpse of plaid shirts and laughter and a pink mouth. As Laura and he start on their roadtrip back to California from New York, the dreams start to get clearer. Every state they cross, Derek can see the outline of his soulmate get more defined, knows that he has brown eyes, a gorgeous smile and fluffy hair that looks soft to touch.

Stiles is running late to work on the day he has to give a big presentation, but luckily he has an assigned parking spot waiting for him. Except he doesn't. Because some jerk in a nice suit with a sleek black Camaro has stolen it. The douche.

Stiles is back for college for summer break and his is spending it with his daddy

It took Stiles about a week to figure out that he shared his apartment building with someone who very well may be the hottest man he's ever seen. It then took about three weeks to narrow down which of the possible six floors he lives on. After that it takes another week to figure out that the guy works as an EMT because he’s in the elevator wearing his tight uniform and Stiles didn’t think it was possible for the guy to look hotter, but it is totally possible.

It’s not the greatest job in the world, but someone’s gotta do it. And Stiles makes the most of it, okay? Writing captions for the live broadcasts as well as helping run and write the copy for the online news stories can get rather tedious and boring, but Stiles tries his best to keep himself entertained. Slipping in a movie or comic book reference inside a human interest story just to see if someone comments about it, putting up a funny headline to see if someone catches it and puts it up on reddit, you know harmless things that to the casual viewer and reader will go unnoticed but to those that actually pay attention, they might get a kick out of it. They’ve known about the other pack for quite some time now. They know the pack is young and small, formed together more by accident and necessity than anything else. But, they haven’t done anything about them because they’ve been fairly quiet, kept to themselves, and haven’t caused any trouble. That is until the Hales start hearing rumors about the McCall pack acquiring a very young and inexperienced but powerful witch. He's carefully balancing the sandwiches and the two biggest tupperware containers he could find that both had functioning lids when the front door opens and he almost drops everything right there in front of the stupid fountain. If that's Derek Hale, he's definitely not a mountain man.

The sequel to The Fault In Our Sterek. After Derek moves to New York, Stiles follows him. It was obviously going to happen, Stiles couldn't manage not being with him. New York is a big place, and Derek is only one of eight million people there. Even once he's found Derek physically, will he stop searching?

Stiles and Derek have an agreement, a gentleman’s agreement, if you will. And it’s actually worked out quite nicely, on multiple occasions, in fact. The agreement being that if the situation should arise where it would be necessary to have a significant other close by, they would step in and pretend to be that significant other.

Derek wouldn’t say he’s an unobservant person. He’s good at taking in his surroundings, analyzing a situation enough to know whether he should stay or leave for his own comfort. But when he drives to and from work, his world becomes the inside of his car, and his thoughts turn to the errands or projects he has to do rather than looking at the countless advertisements and billboards he drives past.
