This tale is about one of the four princesses in the Kingdom of Tempera, the melancholy princess Desdemona, who was chosen against her will as the caretaker of castle Mortar in the mining town Cliffmount. It's been several years since the war between the Kingdom of Tempera and the Chalodny Empire began. Cliffmount has however been unaffected by the events of the war, but has had enough problems to deal with from within. Once Desdemona turned 18, she aquired all control over castle Mortar, much to the previous Headmistress Mallory's dismay. Desdemona however despises the castle, the city and the responsibilities she was given by her Father, King Tempur, and would rather have nothing to do with her newly aquired power. What will come in the near future for her is trouble in the cold mining town. The power hungry headmistress who seeks to take over again, old myths of magical crystals belonging to ancient beasts, but also a young convict who may convince her that life maybe isn't all that bad.
