pain no pain

I wrote this after being given news of a friend being very closed off because of their past to everyone. To anyone who has dealt with bullying like me or has had to cope with a person.

Sixteen year old Julie Caetry was given up for adoption at five years old. Afterwards, she was adopted by an abusive couple and thrown onto the streets at fourteen. For years, she blocked out her ability to feel emotion in attempt to shield herself from any more pain that she may endure. Her only 'friend' being a schizophrenic teenage girl, she has seemed to have accomplished her goal of distancing herself. But when she witnesses a brutal murder over the Toronto borderline, her life spirals in the opposite direction, and into that of Jayden Mayer, as well as all the darkness that follows him.
