In 1993, I joined an aid mission to the former country of Yugoslavia to deliver much-needed food and medical supplies. The trip should have lasted just five days... It soon became a much longer journey into the unknown, where I met desperate people on all sides of the Balkan conflict, saw the horrific devastation caused by war, and saw entire villages flattened by missiles.

In the Republic of Amar tradition is a big thing. Every year boys and girls who turn eighteen on a certain date are required to take part in a tv-show called 'The Mix and Match Show'. The contestants have to find their perfect partner within the group of selected teenagers. If the group fails to find the perfect partners within the two month time set, they will be slaves of the republic for the rest of their lives. Blossom Shay, a clever girl, is selected to be in the show and since she has a -kind of - boyfriend at home she is not waiting on this show that is about to destroy her life. Luckily her best friend is selected as well. How will this work out for Blossom? What happens when she finds out there are only douchebags, nerds and jokers around the contestants? Swinging my feet off the side of my broken bed, I stared unfazed at the screeching pixels that gave a paralyzing image and licked the warm blood in desire from my long, elegant fingers. I guess I shouldn't have done what I did, but all humans make such mistakes, right? Yeah, well, too bad I'm not human. On my planet, mistakes aren't allowed, nor grief and sorrow, or love and lust. Mm, lust. My favorite ingredient in the recipe of sorrow. A clad, crimson red idea that only seizes to exist to feed us-our sins. Yes, yes, I know. Dark, isn't it? But that is just how I think, or perhaps, how I was taught to think.Eh, go ahead and take your roll and assume of me, but a humans mind is only a nuisance if it's words are not kind. Oh, the end of the world was soon to come, don't give me that look! Pitiful creatures! Must you cringe at the horror when you created it? Indeed, let that sink in. A planet you cannot take care of yet you find another on which to plant your greedy hands on? Desirable.
