When eighteen-year-old Melissa Valentine moves into a deserted house in the North Carolina mountains, she expects creaky floors, dusty rooms, and maybe a few spiders. What she doesn't expect is a microwave that turns itself on... chores that finish themselves... and a radio that seems to know exactly when she needs background music. What corrupts an innocent man? What drives him to corruption? What leads him to sin? What are the conditions that make him subject to and undergo this change? A dark and tragic story about a promising student's roller coaster of a journey to find answers to questions that had always troubled him: "Who am I? What does it mean to live? Is life worth living?" *** Mira is a passion project of mine. Heavily inspired by classic titles such as Fyodor Dostoevsky's Crime and Punishment, Albert Camus' The Stranger, and Dazai Osamu's No Longer Human, it explores a world from the point of view of a man who is emotionally detached from the rest of humanity and the world altogether. *** I will try my best to release at least 2 new chapters per quarter of the year. I struggle with words and grammar; school is also another thing that affects how often I am able to write, alongside other side projects.
