In the backroads of Knockemstiff, Elise Russell answers a newspaper ad for a nanny, hoping distance will quiet the grief that's followed her since her sister-in-law's violent death. The house feels wrong, but the baby is innocent - and Elise needs something to hold onto. When Sandy and her husband leave one night and never return, Elise is left alone with their child and a town full of questions. As an investigation unfolds, she's drawn into the orbit of Lee Bodecker - Sandy's hard-drinking, world-weary brother. Suspicion turns to reluctant partnership, and partnership to something neither of them expected. You tracked him here. You wouldn't let him get away, not again. Not after what he did. You are looking for revenge. You are looking for closure. But the question is will she ever get either? Nothing much different from the film) I own any plot that isn't in TDATT along with several characters that do not appear in the movie.
