Colette had her whole life figured out the moment she turned 18: Go to NYU, graduate top of her class in entrepreneurship, open her own boutique, get married at 25, then have kids at 27. It was all going to plan until her second year of college, when she met her evil ex, Jonathon. Jonathon knocked her up, then left her high and dry when all she wanted was support. Given she was raised in a very conservative and religious household, she was immediately disowned. Three years later, she was raising her own little princess all alone after swearing off men. Life had not gone to plan; instead of having her own boutique, she was working at a cafe trying to make ends meet.
Vincent had never been interested in a woman, ever, until Colette. Colette reeked of chaos, cupcakes, and a floral perfume he could not forget even though he should. As a security officer for the CIA, he learned to keep his life closed off and private, but for Colette and her sweet baby girl, he'd give up everything. Vincent was cold, hard, and closed off, but with his girls, he was sweet, soft, and completely laid bare.
Vincent had let his walls down for Colette, and he would do anything to make Colette lower hers.

"I want you to quit your job," Vincent said slowly, I paused.
"Excuse me?" I stood stiffly, not understanding why he would say that.
"You hate your job-" I cut him off quickly,
"I do not!" I exclaimed quickly, I loved Mrs.King. She let me bring Lovelyn in so I didn't have to pay a babysitter, and no other job would allow that, and she had become a mother figure for me. I did not hate my job.
"Baby, listen to me. You love Mrs.King, but you do not love your job. You should be in your own boutique, creating new clothes and selling them, its your passion. I know you're only at the cafe to care of Lovelyn, but I'm here now." He took a deep breath and looked slightly nervous.
