Her so - called boyfriend broke up with her when she caught him cheating red-handed the day after the crash. With no other place to live, she has to stay with her older brother Grady and his wife Edaline. Keefe's life might have looked like a wish that came true. But what good is looks. His world was empty, no one that loved him dearly. Parents who forgot their child. Friends who cared more about popularity and money. His life was held together by the very hope of change. But would anything change if they met?

This is a highschool au. With FEDEX! *Que jazz hands. Also, maybe some other ships 😏😏😏 Dex Dizznee is a 16-year old mess. He has but one friend whom he's developed a massive and unrequited crush on, absolutely no incentive to really do anything half the time and one person that he's come to despise as a whole. Fitz Vacker. He doesn't know how or why, but Fitz is the one person he just can't admire in any way possible. Everyone else quite literally drools all over him like he's a prize to be won, though Dex doesn't see the big whoop. What's the big deal with this guy anyway? Sure, he's more attractive than the average bear with his teal eyes that you can drown in and his gorgeous chestnut brown hair, so what? There's hotter. Maybe he can be unbelievably smooth without knowing it, or his grades are A+ but who cares? Dex definitely doesn't. Definitely. But when fate brings the two together in the strangest scenarios, Dex soon learns that there's more to the guy than pretty porcelain skin and an impressive figure. Maybe Fitz isn't so incomprehensible after all, maybe Dex can find a way to like him. Maybe.

So, this is my first fanfiction and I would like to say that the universe (characters and places as well) belongs to Shannon Messenger, the writer of Keepers of the Lost Cities (one of the best series of all time)! I strongly advise and recommend that you have read all the KOTLC books before starting to read this one. (I'll give you one last chance) Well, this story takes place just after Unlocked (volume 8.5) in a world where Keefe would not have gone to the forbidden cities.
