Some people may not know what a Maldivian local may live like. But a Maldivian sure would! This book is about not just one Maldivian's story, but the story of several others. There will be tales of moving from island to island; ferry-rides, walking down unpaved roads, catching crickets, reading books, making friends and spending time with family and learning to pray for the first time as well as other regular and somewhat nostalgic walks down memory lane.

މިއީ އިންސާނެއް ހަންޑީގެ ވަބާގައިޖެހި ކުޑަކުއްޖެށްގެ ގަބުރު ކޮނެ ހެދި އެއްޗެށްގެ ސަބަބުން އެރަށުގައި އިންސާނެއްގެ ގައިގަ ދިރިއުޅޭ ވަރައް ނުރައްކާތެރި ހަންޑިއެށްގެ ވާހަކައެވެ.

އެންމެ ފުރަތަަމަ ދުވަހުއްސުރެ ވެސް މިލާން ބޭނުންވީ އޭނާގެ ދިރިއުޅުމަށް އަސަރު ކުރާނެ ހުރިހާ ކަމަކުން ދުރުވެ ހުރެ ކިޔަވާ ނިންމާލާށެވެ. ކަންތައްތައް ވަމުން ދިޔައީ ވެސް އޭނާ ބޭނުންވި ގޮތަށެވެ. މުޅި ސްކޫލުން ވެސް އޭނާ ދަންނަ މީހަކު މަދުވާނެއެވެ. އިނގިރޭސި ބަހުން ބުނާނަމަ އޭނާއަކީ ސްކޫލްގެ 'ނޯބަޑީ' އެވެ. އެކަމާ މިލާންގެ އެއްވެސް ޝަކުވާއެއް ވެސް ނެތެވެ. އެއީ އޭނާ ބޭނުންވި ގޮތެވެ. ނަމަވެސް ސްކޫލަށް އައި އާ ކުއްޖާގެ ފުރަތަަމަ ނަޒަރު މައުސޫމް މިލާނަށް ހުއްޓުނު ހިސާބުން މިލާންގެ ދިރިއުޅުން އެއްކޮށް ބަދަލުވިއެވެ. ކުއްލިއަކަށް އެއްކަލަ 'ނޯބަޑީ' 'ސަމްބަޑީ' އަކަށްވެ 'އެވްރިބަޑީ' ގެ ސަމާލުކަން އަތުލައިފިއެވެ.
