This is about how I am surviving with type one diabetes and the experiences I have gone through to get where I am today. This book is more for people with type one diabetes (T1D). They will better relate to my stories but could also be informative to people who do not have T1D to show what it is like to go through the experiences of being a T1D.

This is a story about a boy named Lucas. He's your "typical" high school "jock" who plays on the schools sports teams, the basketball one to be exact. That annoying guy you sat/sit next to in class that drives you completely insane, argues with the teachers has an unnecessary attitude problem. You who I'm talking about, but he also has his own secrets that no one knows, he's really artistic and loves doing things like drawing and such he's in the schools theater and has been in multiple plays, he's also really kind but not to the bullies or all around rude kids but... he's also gay and has some pretty bad mental problems he won't dare talk about, he's also diabetic which sometimes affects his games. He's been able to hide it all, not even his closest friends know but it's hard. He hates needles and tends to freak out, he's not used to it yet. All of it is taking an even bigger toll on his mental health but other than that his life appears fine... until he meets Andrew, a new kid that he ends up falling in love with... I need ideas but I'll update once I get one, sorry for the delay. !!!DISCLAIMER!!! I was 12 when I wrote this (I'm 15 now), I was apparently allergic to proper grammar and Google. I will go through and deeply edit this when I get the time. I'm aware a lot of things are written badly or just plain incorrect. Please be patient and thank you for reading!!! #1 type1diabetic #1 diabetic

Fasting blood sugar levels less than 100mg/dL is normal. Reading between 100 and 125 mg/dL is borderline (called pre-diabetes). 126 mg/dL and above signals diabetes. Postprandial blood sugar level less than 140 mg/dL is normal. Reading between 141 and 200 mg/dL is borderline or pre-diabetes. 200 mg/dL and above signals diabetes. Besides, a random blood sugar test - irrespective of when you last ate - should always be less than 200 mg/dL. But if you are already diagnosed with the disease, your doctor would set new targets for you, and this new target will depend on your existing condition, as well as other factors. #diabetes

An ankle sprain is a prevalent injury that occurs when the ligaments in the ankle stretch or tear. This type of injury often happens when the ankle rolls inward, subjecting the joint to external force and causing damage to the tendons and ligaments within. The ankle joint consists of numerous ligaments on the inside and the outside of your ankle that support and help the ankle joint function. An ankle sprain typically occurs when you twist or roll your ankle. https://www.myfootspecialist.com/sports-medicine/ankle-sprains/

Managing diabetes effectively involves keeping blood sugar levels within target ranges to prevent complications and enhance overall well-being. Follow this detailed guide: 1. Healthy Eating Choose Nutrient-Dense Foods: Prioritize meals rich in vegetables, whole grains, lean proteins, and healthy fats. Minimize processed foods, sugary snacks, and refined carbohydrates. Control Portions: Eat appropriate serving sizes to avoid spikes in blood sugar levels. Track Carbs: Focus on complex carbohydrates with a low glycemic index and spread intake evenly throughout the day. 2. Stay Physically Active Regular Exercise: Engage in at least 150 minutes of moderate aerobic activities weekly, such as brisk walking, swimming, or cycling. Strength Training: Include resistance exercises 2-3 times a week to improve muscle strength and insulin sensitivity. Reduce Sedentary Time: Avoid sitting for long periods by incorporating short, frequent movement breaks. 3. Follow Your Medication Plan Take Medications as Prescribed: Use insulin or other medications exactly as your healthcare provider recommends. Communicate with Your Doctor: Adjust treatment plans based on changes in your health, lifestyle, or glucose patterns. 4. Monitor Blood Sugar Levels Regular Checks: Use a glucose monitor to measure blood sugar levels at consistent times daily. Identify Patterns: Keep a detailed record to understand how meals, activities, and medications affect your glucose levels. 5. Achieve and Maintain a Healthy Weight Set Realistic Goals: Losing 5-10% of your body weight can greatly improve blood sugar regulation if you're overweight. Combine Efforts: Pair a balanced diet with regular physical activity for sustainable weight loss. 6. Adopt a Holistic Approach Manage Stress: Practice mindfulness, deep breathing, or relaxation techniques to reduce the impact of stress on blood sugar. Sleep Well: Get 7-9 hours of quality sleep each night to support overall health.
