It's Marinette's first day at Gotham Academy and she can already tell things aren't going well. Old memories from the past stalk her and she can barely keep a grip on reality. She finds herself juggling between dreams and memories as well as the cruel truth of reality. A cocoon of loneliness is quick to wrap her in its embraces. Feeling lost and alone, she tries her best to stay positive and stop being anti - social for Adrien. But it's easier said than done. Akumas had a hard hit on her social life, as did Lila Rossi and her old classmates. Knowing she's in the City of her birth father can't soothe her, especially as all she knows about him is his last name is Wayne. A common name, according to her. This is a Maribat fanfiction. The ship is Roynette, Roy Harper x Marinette. It's a very angst story though very descriptive. You can find this story on my Tumblr at gazinggothamite or read it here. Whichever you prefer. Marinette stared at the note that sat on her desk, innocently, with a rose on top of it. It had to be for someone else. Not for her. Someone like her didn't deserve the beautiful words written in the note. Whoever it was meant for, was gonna love it.
