A young teenage girl, haunted by the memories of her father's execution, attempts to escape a cruel regime by night. A solitary woman, abandoned by her husband, inadvertently plays into the cruel hands of 'the state'. In another totalitarian regime a traffic light fixer is dealt with brutally for admiring a sunset. All these characters capture the essence of what it's like to be disempowered and cruelly dehumanised at the hands of a heinous, corrupt power. This sharp collection of pertinent short stories throws an at times uncomfortable light on cruelty, injustice and persecution that is all too relevant today. But ultimately these stories celebrate the strength and determination to survive at all costs, that exists within all of us.

Vardania was already rotting before Adrian Kael Varros seized it. For decades, its politics were poisoned by parties that thrived on religion and caste divisions, trading real progress for empty slogans. The air was choked with industrial smoke, its rivers ran foul, and its people had grown numb to corruption, crime, and decay. Kael offered something the public had not seen in generations - decisive order. Dissolving parliament overnight under Directive Zero, he placed the army under his sole command and promised safety, discipline, and a new future. Streets became clean, crime vanished, and trains ran on time. But the price was absolute obedience. Under the watch of the Order Enforcement Authority, dissent was crushed, surveillance became routine, and truth itself was rewritten. Many embraced the peace, others whispered of the freedom that had been stolen. As Kael's rule deepened, cracks began to form - in the poisoned skies over Vestra South, in the silent defiance of a young woman in Unity Square, and in the whispers carried through encrypted networks. The people began to remember that they could stand together without permission. The Iron Dawn is a story of how desperation can invite tyranny, how discipline can both heal and suffocate a nation, and how even in the shadow of total control, the smallest act of defiance can be the first spark of rebellion.

The adventurous journey continues. After Dave suddenly finds himself blackmailed by the IRA, Tom and Martin travel to London to help him solve the problem. In the process they get to know other "right people", the German TV cameramen Hans and Reiner and the musicians of the reggae band "The Uptones". In the course of the year, Tom and Martin travel to Northern Ireland, where they meet Barry Madden, the head of finance of the IRA, who turns out to be a "very nice murderer". They meet a similarly "nice murderer", namely the Libyan head of state, Col. Gaddafi, when they accompany Madden on a secret trip to Libya, where he strikes an "arms for information" deal. Gaddafi offers generous financial support to the Greek resistance organization in return for information from the NATO base at Souda Bay on Crete, from where he fears an attack on his country. But in Greece, too, there are further adventures to be had. For example Philipos, the youngest, cheekiest and most precocious member of the group, on a mission that the group is carrying out in Kastoria in northern Greece, finds himself in a cellar with 100 skulls and a zombie, which is a big, albeit embarrassing, step on his path to adulthood. Time and again Tom and his friends get into unpredictable, dangerous situations, which they survive because the members of their group now understand each other other blindly, become braver each time and learn from their mistakes. Of course there are news about the love triangle of Tom - Sophia - Nikos, and love affairs also emerge among the other members of the resistance group. As I said - the journey continues, more adventurous, more dangerous, more exciting. This is a work of fiction, although I thoroughly researched the historical facts. New chapters will be uploaded every Friday.

We all know the cynical outsider - be it from experience, from books or movies: moody, sardonic and an anti-hero. But is the outcast more than meets the eye? Step into the overlooked world of Antonia Lachrymose, a girl who falls into the above category as she battles through school and adolescent life. It's not a smooth-sailing journey, with themes of dictatorship and the hidden evil of today's society - in one sixth-grade classroom. After all, who are we, really, to label and to judge those on the imperfections our overly-critical eyes see, for nothing is exactly what it seems...

This is an urban fantasy about what may become of social media in the distant future. Though it has been written in 21st century English in order to be understood, the characters actually speak a dialect as far removed from this era as modern English is removed from Chaucer. Every person or incident in this novel is imaginary, including the author. Any similarity with persons or incidents, either in real life or in virtual reality, is merely coincidental. A first draft was published, tweet by tweet, on my Twitter profile between 2010 and 2015.

Imagine if everything you did was documented. Every move you made was noted, and every mistake you made, every single one, you were punished for. It's like that here. It feels like you're suffocating on your own fear and it has claimed many. Some fight back. Some rebel and fail, but at least they go missing as heroes.

He took a leaden breath. "A smart man learns to live with placid waters, making them rage will sweep him away. Do not speak much because you will never know a friend or family from a foe; the wrath you incur will be obliterating." "Water is meant to flow, not to remain placid." "Here, it is meant to remain placid." "And my dignity?" "What about your dignity?" "How will it succumb to this?" "It must succumb. You must bury your dignity, otherwise, it will bury you." Beautifully intertwined with compelling Arabic poetry, The Puppets of the Marionettes depicts the struggles of nations, of hundreds of millions of people: puppet governments, degradation, disguised slavery, corruption, stripped rights, hopelessness, this is a story of a trampled Middle East. Follow Omar as his life unwillingly turns into a life carved for him. Will his dignity ever be restored, or is its loss the main objective?

"You're mine! Do you hear me?! Mine!" Damien growled lowly as he backed me up against the wall in the classroom. I did my best to not show how intimated I was, you definitely would be from a person who could kill you from a snap of his fingers. "No," I retaliated. "I'm not yours, you do not own me!" I spat in his face. He let out a deep, dark chuckle, one that sent me off edge. "Princess, if I ever see you hanging around guys again, you would be the reason for their death but then don't think you will get away easy either," he whispered in my ear, then he bit my earlobe. Before I could stop myself, I raised my hand and it was sent flying towards his cheek; a loud slapping noise echoed throughout the classroom that only had us in it. "Back the fuck off Damien Black!" I warned, pushing him off of me and quickly escaping from the classroom... {Started: 20th September 2019} {Ended:
