A rider's intuition is one thing, but this was not intuition, Johnny thought. This was years of study. Whoever this man was, he knew Johnny in a way that he didn't the other racers. A fan from his glory days, perhaps? No, that didn't feel right for some reason. But if this stranger had in fact been studying him prior to the Steel Ball Run, wouldn't it have made sense for him to know some of the other racer's habits as well? At least the more well known ones. And how did he know Johnny was even going to compete if study was the reason at all? It'd been two years since his last race, it didn't make sense at all. What's up guy's so basically I came up with an idea so what better way is to write a fanfic of one of my favourite Jojo characters Diego Brando. Why did i want to start this well I was bored and I never saw a Jojo x STRQ fanfic so I might as well do one. Story is inspired by @Bread-and-Burter story called Selfish desire or deserved reward. Natalie "Nat" Baker was a great jockey. Starting at the age of 6, she had a rough start, but grew to possibly be the greatest female jockey in all of Europe. But there were 2 people she could never beat: Diego Brando and her best friend Johnny Joestar. She and Johnny became more than just friends, but he left for America soon after. After his accident, their relationship changed forever. She hadn't seen him in years, nor had she looked for him, or Diego. Until they signed up for the Steel Ball Run, Nat racing for her family and her own problems. But the race wasn't anything like what they thought it would be. All the participants who knew the truth, including Nat, would have their lives changed forever. Or taken away. Falling in love and fighting for her life weren't things she expected to do during the race. But things changed drastically that September in San Diego. For her, and for a lot more people.

The year is 1890 at the cusp of the grand Steel Ball Run horse race across the country. The grand prize weighing a ton in gold people from far and wide compete from the west coast to the east. Among the thousands attending is a 19-year-old girl from the Isle of Mann who intends win but will end up with plenty of other motivations.
