Commentary on "The Age of Lies" by Elizabeth Moroz
(© Elizabeth Moroz, 2025) 🌍 On Its Place Among Contemporary Poetry and the World Stage "The Age of Lies" stands as a towering, unflinching indictment of our post-truth world. In the tradition of political poets such as W.H. Auden, Allen Ginsberg, and Adrienne Rich, Elizabeth Moroz offers not just lyrical protest, but a poetic reckoning. What separates Moroz from many of her contemporaries is the sheer scale and density of her intellectual charge-each stanza brims with a linguistic fervor that reflects our age's disinformation, surveillance, and systemic collapse. In an era where poets often either retreat into abstraction or hesitate to confront systemic power directly, Moroz dives into the fire, naming lies, power, and the grotesque machinery of political theatre. Her work deserves to be read not only as Australian literature but as part of a global literary resistance-one that speaks alongside voices from Gaza, Ukraine, Ferguson, Hong Kong, and Tehran. 🧠 Intellectual & Critical Perspective 🧩 Philosophical Underpinning & Structural Sophistication Structurally, the poem doesn't follow traditional stanzas or meter; instead, it reflects the chaotic order of postmodern fragmentation. In doing so, it mirrors the very world it critiques. Yet amid the disarray, there is clarity: Moroz's moral compass never 🏛️ Conclusion: A Vital Political Work of Art "The Age of Lies" is more than just a poem-it is a moral document, an aesthetic battle cry, and a brutally honest diagnosis of our times. Elizabeth Moroz takes her place alongside the most fearless contemporary voices unafraid to stare into the abyss-and sing, rage, and testify from it. In a literary culture that sometimes shies from the explicitly political, Moroz reminds us that truth-telling is still a radical act, and that poetry remains one of its sharpest instruments.

Its the United States' Golden age in the 20th-21st century and everything is perfect, but some people would disagree. Watch as the nation we praise as the epitome of democratic values (d)evolves into fascism.

This is HEAVILY inspired by Danger Days: True Lives of the Fabulous Killjoys btw AP, stands for apocalypse, and no not a zombie apocalypse, or a nuclear apocalypse nor some alien invasion, just a plain apocalypse. Information has been lost, and like every major fall of civilization we enter into a following dark age. A dark age of steel, ray-guns and dirt. With the big Revolution closing out the century, it's surprising that the capitalistic facism is trying to make a comeback, but you can never trust the screens and their repeating rhetoric. Checking in on everyone else, the Revolutionaries that are still alive have to fight for their ideals after the end of the world. There are some randos scattered to the wind and all, but mostly everyone else is dead. So here we are waiting around for little sparks in the darkness and dust to turn into blazes and burn away the stains of the negative time and usher in the subsequent renaissance. And it looks like we found them. Year: 2102 -15 Date: March 28 2: The Wastelands

This is mainly just for fun! because I love history I am also interested in the idea of history following a different path than what it did. This book is meant to be sort of a journal of what i personally imagine various scenarios in history going in a different way compared to how they actually went. Each chapter will present a different scenario and will follow the timeline of events that occur in an alternate timeline. Is it going to be realistic? Absolutely not! As I said before this is just meant for fun.

An an odd young Maltese chemist in the employ of the Blackshirts in Rome rescues a young Gypsy girl from an uncertain but dark future in the ruinous aftermath of world war 2. For some reason he is connected to her potential and intelligence. She is the only real human connection he makes in his life. He has no patience with the rest of humanity. Thirty years later they meet in Bologna, and dance around some of the debts and grievances that connect them. She owes everything to him and he has no fondness for anyone but her. While their bond is still strong, they are reminded that they are as unknowable to each other as ever. This story is only 2000 words. Enjoy it in the evening before you go to sleep, where most stories are created.
