Dil Howlter was adopted by YouTubers Dan Howell and Phil Lester in 2016. Now in 2022, he seems like a normal 15 year old boy, but what's on the outside hides the true horrors that were his past. Even though he has a few friends and a good life now, he's still bullied by the popular kids at school, especially Erica Pendleton. He feels like this is his past in a new form and he will never escape it. One day, a new girl starts school and her and Dil click instantly. Will it go any further? Will there be obstacles and if there are, will they overcome them? Also, Dil's past pre-adoption is revealed bit by bit, how much will it affect him? What happens when Dan and Phil are on their gaming channel playing the Sims and all of a sudden Dil appears in the real world? Will Dan and Phil care for Dil or put him back in the game? What feelings might be unlocked in the process?

Phil is a classic black cat. But one thing is different about him- he is a hybrid. One day, Phil gets picked by a couple from a pound, Dan and Katrina. Seems like a nice family to take care or him. But how long can Phil keep his secret hidden? He hasn't had a very nice past. And as to how he became a hybrid.. Well.. We will find out in the chapters to come.

But finding his seemed to be impossible, so he would keep moving until he found one. Then he arrives in London, and watched his hopes for ever finding his purpose, swirl down the drain. It was loud, overcrowded and chaotic. Dan felt as if he had been taken from a pond, and shoved into a coursing river, struggling against the current. But never the less Dan was still determined to find his life meaning, no matter how long it took him. Then he meets a bright eyed boy named Phil, who makes Dan see the beauty in London, and completely wrecks him. Because Dan can't love someone when he's not even sure who he is. He can't be what Phil needs when he's missing parts of himself. But what Dan doesn't see is that although he is a jagged puzzle piece, Phil fits together perfectly with him, rough edges and all. But Dan won't except Phil as his purpose, he can't, he won't.
