The War is over and the Empire is gone, but not on the outer ring. Out there, The New Republic is nothing more than a name and it's every man for themselves. Yara and her family have been smugglers and gun runners first for the Rebels and then for the ex-Imperials looking to put up a fight. One night, her family was attacked and she was taken, stolen away from everything she had ever known because of a power she didn't understand. After almost a year in captivity, she had lost all hope of escape until a child was brought in to be subjected to the same experiments she had endured. When the door slid open to reveal their savior however, Yara was not prepared for how her life would change. She had heard only legends of Mandalorians, she had never imagined meeting one of their warriors herself. This is the Way Mando's entire life has been about his honor, the code of Mandalorians and being the best Hunter in the Outer Rim. Until the one job he couldn't let go. He delivered the child as agreed, recovered the beskar for his people, but he knew he wouldn't be able to live with himself if he left the kid in the hands of ex-imperials with delusions of grandeur. When he rescued the child he was surprised to find another prisoner; a young woman named Yara, who not only fought at his side during their escape but saved HIM. On the run, Mando will have to give up everything he has ever known to keep them safe. He and Yara must learn trust if they are going to protect the child, stay one step ahead of the Imperials, and save each other. Mandalorian x OC

"I need you to watch over this child I'm taking care of." The Innkeeper's eyebrows raised at the request. "Oh? For what reason?" "I need to find a job. Can't take him with me, and I can't leave him alone," Din explained curtly. "Can you watch over him until I get back?" "Well, I don't know if I'm equipped to watch him," she chortled as she waved a hand over her eyes. "But I'll keep him out of trouble. Where is he?" "He's in a carrier, it will follow you," he said, pushing a few buttons on his vambrace, moving the pram to behind the desk. "And does this child have a name or shall I call him Mando Jr?" Din breathed out a laugh at that. "No, he doesn't. He's just. . . the child." The Innkeeper pursed her lips at that, but shrugged. "Your child. Your business. Take care of your job, Mandalorian. I got him. Just come straight to the back when you're done."

Taking advantage of her newfound time, Elora found her eyes wandering along the Mandalorian's torso, landing on a carefully crafted signet on his armored right shoulder piece. The image of a bullhorn lay ingrained on the shiny beskar and she pushed back the urge to feel the edges of the metal between her fingertips. The signet suited him but the metal on his left shoulder lay dormant and untouched. This made her mind wonder as he scrubbed at his dirtied rifle. What signet would he earn next? And would she still be beside him when he did? Life had never seemed caring for Elora and her moments with the Mandalorian felt ever-changing. She hoped this time, change would be in her favor.
