After twelve months of gruelling training Ava was ready to start driving trains, but her first day on the job did not go as planned. Driving a packed commuter train should be easy. Just follow the signals, but for an inexperienced train driver danger could easily be waiting around the next curve in the track. A short four part drama. Since my knowledge of railway operations is rather limited I had some help with this story. Thanks to my friend Fiamma, who drives trains in Italy, for her invaluable assistance with this story. Also thanks to my friend Craig, a railway enthusiast, who provided much information on how railways in Sydney operate. And thanks to Google which gave me technical explanations of things like block signalling and dynamic braking.
