This was originally written for a C.J.Biggs Improv Contest over on StoryFire back in 2020.

Tess is just like any other teen. Stressed out, confused, but there's more. Ever since her grandmother starved herself after going through a year of cancer, when Tess was seven. Tess was never the same. She felt different, depressed, suicidal. She felt different. She was disconnected.(This is my life but with a character named Tess instead cuz i felt like it)

This piece is a reflection of what it feels like to exist without fully feeling. It explores numbness, disconnection, and the quiet struggle between wanting to open up and feeling safer staying closed. For those who feel everything... and nothing at the same time. Not everything we lose is gone sometimes it's just hidden.

Something In The Way works alongside the Broken Series and introduces an older relationship of Tyson and Alexandra. Through their relationship, it is explored why characters such as Dami and Ash are the way they are.

In the year 2101, seventeen-year-old Zarri lives in Mors City, a world powered by flawless technology and constant connection. Joseph King has had an extremely rough year. Several months ago, he suffered a near fatal injury that left him with not only a shattered arm, but a severely broken leg as well. While he has been recovering, the insurance that has been paying for his treatment feels that it could be better, so they send Joe to a clinic run by their company. This clinic is located at St. Jude's General, the hospital in his hometown. Initially, Joe finds the hospital experience normal, but that soon changes as he realizes that both patrons and staff are staring at him when he isn't paying attention. The strangeness is amplified after a particularly unsettling encounter with the clinic's attending physician, Dr. Liam Asher. Frustrated and upset, Joe attempts to get a ride to his parent's house nearby, but the driver pulls Joe out of the vehicle and places him in front of the leering crowd inside. Unable to convince his friends and family that there is something strange going on at the hospital, Joe turns to the internet for help and guidance. Posting on the social discussion website, Bluethat, Joe is desperate for any insight he can get. When the hospital itself preventing Joe from leaving its premises, will he find an escape from St. Jude's
