In a fantasy world, where magic has faded and technology has burgeoned, Glark Underbrick, a goblin wizard who runs an unsuccessful magical bookshop, is resigned to magic becoming little more than a memory. SciFi short stories for the Sci-Friday challenges

Commander Vimes, Sir Samuel Duke of Ankh Morpork, and Blackboard Monitor Vimes, were all surprised to find the Archchancellor at their door. Susan Stohelit, however, wasn't surprised at all to find the Death of Rats at the Stationary Cupboard's door. Rincewind, happily bored in the library of Unseen University, wasn't surprised either, when something bad happened to him, as it always does.

One Hogswatch day, Sam Vimes is flung from the Discworld to the nation of Amestris, in hot pursuit of a criminal alchemist. There, he meets with a bright, young pair; a giant suit of armor he's convinced is a new type of golem, and a short, hot tempered boy the armor claims to be his brother. Follow as he is thrust into a grand conspiracy involving what he believes to be magic and a lot of murder.

When he found out about Earth, his bloodlust for Discworld soon wasn't enough.

Accompanied by a young(ish, these are mages after all) member of the Guild tasked with recording the progress of the investigation, the three mages set out on a perilous journey that will involve several belligerent doors, a three cart race, and, probably, a number of people wondering what the Hel is going on and why one of the mages continues to shout 'Power!' at every opportunity. An ONC novella like no other. The third novella of the ongoing Discworld inspired series.
