She's not me. She can't be. I'm Tess. She's Lorna. But it's my body.
For seventeen years I lived with my family and twin brother, Adam. Our lives were full of fun . . . and drama, of course. I had somatization disorder, my aunt, Clair, suffered from borderline personality disorder, and my dad's a narcissist. The only normal people in the house were my mom, Veronica, and twin brother. But we were happy, you know, as happy as a distorted family can be.
Then one day, my dad found his car in the garage, mud-covered. Somebody drove his car when he was asleep. And Adam said it was me, because he saw me drive the car out the night before. But that's strange because I've never gotten behind a moving wheel before. . . I didn't even own a driver's license. And that night I'd been battling serious headache.
So, who took Dad's car out? And who did Adam see?
Because whoever it is, she's not me. And I'm going to find out.
