Stuck in a game-world he cannot escape, Jay finds himself in worse shape than he ever thought he would be, only knowing that he has entered a game he must treat as reality. How will he survive? How will he cope with a reality that others can treat as a game, but he cannot?

The year is 2609. The sun has burned out and the earth is a frozen ball in space. The snow falls constantly and what is left of the people barely survive. What is left of our civilization is buried under snow and ice. Zac is chopping wood when he falls down a chute down below the snow that leads to the world underneath. Will he find a way to save the frozen world.

I recently responded to an online writing prompt that read as follows: Eye color means everything here. Brown control the earth, blue controls the water, white controls the sky. There are so many colors and each important but you were first born with yellow eyes. This is my initial response.

A hundred years ago mankind, through extensive research and experimentation, has unlocked the secrets of what they call the "God Gene". They tried to manipulate it by using a live human being, a kid, as a test subject -- Subject 00, but they failed, leaving the gene unstable. The resulting failure caused the Subject 00 to die (faulty gene) but not the gene itself. It mutated the body into a spire-like organic-structure which stood 50 meters tall. It released "copies" of Subject 00's God Gene into Earth's atmosphere, transforming people both physically and mentally. Those who turned underwent a process which they called Alteration's: Ascendance -- unlocks the conscientious part of the affected -- and Despondence -- unlocks the darker side of the person. The year is 2116. Mathew McKay, a college student, underwent Alteration of a different kind. Together with his best friend, Dante Adams, they will begin a journey (pfft) to find the truth. The people lived the life of those who'd lived over a thousand years ago in the 18th and 19th centuries. Electronics are outlawed, and the people have discovered magic as a substitute. This is the world that Iris Matthews was born into in 2920. Now 17, Iris has developed an unquenchable thirst for knowledge about what life was like before the Great Meltdown, but talk of it is forbidden, as well any books about it. Her parents push her to forget her silly curiosity and start thinking about marriage, no matter how many times she says she doesn't like her suitors. But one day her life changes forever when she finds Desdemon, a handsome cyborg who was made illegally and is on the run from the police. Against her better judgement, Iris takes him in, hoping he'll be able to tell her about life before the Meltdown. What she doesn't plan on, however, is falling in love.
